I have very puffy nipples and I wear a 32 A. I am in the 9th
grade and got my period in the 6th. Though my breasts have never even a
little bit grown since the 5th grade! Even then they really didnt, just
kind of stuck out a bit. What I'm most concerned about though is my
nipples. They're so puffy and only erect when I'm cold. I know your site
does say its flat nipples. But why me! To make matters worse what
breasts I do have are pointy! Im so embarrassed I see everyone around me
with breasts even jsut small ones that are still norm. And I would give
aything for that. I cry because I know I'll never be like other
girls. I've never seen anyone like this. You only talk about it... yet I
havent seen any pictures on your site that looks like me. I hate it. I
dont feel like a woman at all. I started puberty in the 4th grade... And
yet my friends didnt even until like the 7th. And here they are in
their b && c cup. It really hurts me. I just wnat to be normal. What is
wrong with me?
Crazy
Hello Crazy,
There's nothing wrong with you - all you describe is normal. Plenty of
teenage girls have these kind of "pointy" breasts. In fact, it makes me
feel that they will "fill up" in the future, or change to a rounder
shape.
This "filling up" many times happens to girls in their early 20s but can
happen earlier. So just wait wait.... don't lose hope.
Puffy nipples aren't unusual either. They might stay that way though till you possibly become pregnant someday.
Hey. I'm 13 years old and I'm a 36a. I read a couple of articles from
your page, but some don't seem to help. I want to know why my breasts
aren't growing. I've been this size for 2-3 years now. My mom is a 36D
and my sister is a 38b. My friends all have bigger breasts than me. I
want to be a 34-36B when I get to High School next year. I started my
period in May 2006. My periods are really irregular. I usually skip 2
or 3 months but I had a couple 20 days after. Does my irregular
periods affect my breast developments? Help me!!! PLEASE!
Does wearing bras when you sleep affect they way it grows
Most teens have irregular periods when they first start so don't worry
just yet.
Lack of periods CAN affect the development of milk glands. But usually
the period does stabilize after a year of so. If they keep being very
irregular after next summer, you might go check with a doctor.
The development of milk glands, however, does not make the breast much
bigger. It's the accumulating fat that is responsible for most of the
size differences between women.
So yours might just be an a-cup breasts and be perfectly normal that
way. Not everyone has large breasts.
Bras don't affect breast development, but you should not wear one to
bed. Breasts need free time so that the lymph within them can circulate
freely.
I just turned 14 years old on March 7th 2007. I got my period at around
February of 2006, a month before my birthday. But I started growing my
breasts a little before that. Now at the age of 14 my breasts are around 36
A. My mom has either D's or DD's (more on the DD side). I got accepted to
Brooklyn Tech High School New York and going to a big school means going to
a school of girls with large breasts. I'll be an outcast. I'll be going
this...... um..September. My mom keeps saying they'll grow, they'll grow but
what else are they supposed to say, right? Do you have any idea if they'll
grow any bigger? I am always being teased at school, I meann why not?, I
should have bigger breasts in the 8th grade by now. I'm just hopin they'll
grow to a B cup befor Sept. Hepl me!! Thanks for the time and I just love
your site, but I'm still worried.
Hi,
I suspect that your breasts won't grow to D or C if they are a A cup
now. They are still developing though because that continues for a few
years after you get your period and you got yours only 1 year ago.
So I can't tell for sure if they will "reach" B cup or not. But like you
probably realize, A cup breasts are PERFECTLY NORMAL and plenty of women
have those, and they can breastfeed just fine and be attractive
(see our article Breast size & breastfeeding) .
It's not in the breast size. Girls might be comparing among themselves,
but *mature* men don't care, babies don't care. It's all fine. You have
the milk ducts and the glands are still growing... your breasts are
perfectly normal, and perfect.
I am 19 and I started my period quite late about 4 months after my 17th
birthday (the end of grade 11), until then I had been a very small AA now I
barely fill a 34A. And I still lack the curves that are associated with
adult women, im not completely lacking curves they just arent very
noticible. I realize that because I am slim I wont be really curvy like
allot of women, but I still have that body shape associated with younger
teens. im just wondering if this is it for breast growth or if I will fill
out a little more over the next couple years and get a more feminine shape.
im not expecting any miricles, it would just be nice if I end up filling out
that A a little more. I hope this helps put things in perspective for all
the 11-14 year olds who seem to think that they are way behind in
developing. in the very least it should comfort them to know that they arent
the only ones with this issue. By the way this site really helped, I just
didnt see any cases like mine so I thought i'd ask for your opinion. Thanks
Lynne
Since you've started developing late, I am guessing you will still "fill
out" your curves a little in the coming years. That is, if you are
eating normally and not having heavy exercise, since not eating enough
and heavy exercise can keep girls really slim.
So just wait and see.
I'm a 15 year old girl who is still in school. I've shown all signs of puberty for a few years now. My body hair, etc started growing in fourth grade and so have my breasts, but since then have never been bigger than the 'breast bud' stage. My period started three years ago too.
Its really hard for me. I hardly fit into a 32A cup. I can't buy shirts that I like because they dip too low. Bathing suit shopping is the worst for me. I envy so much the girls my age who fit into a cute bikini even if they have to take the smallest sizes, atleast they fit. I tried buying a bra with padding in it, even if I'm still at the bud stage maybe they would help. No luck there.
All shirts that I buy (if I do) have to fit into extreme criterias such as: must be very very tight in order to see atleast a puny lump where a breast is supposed to be.
I compared to my family members just like the site suggests: my mom is 36C and so are all of my aunts. My cousin who is 2 years older than me hasn't even started her periods yet and easily fits into a 34A.
Of course breasts aren't everything, but I just feel like I'm not feminine and left out. I don't care about that famous quote "its the inside that counts". When you're walking down the street, people don't know your personality as soon as they set eyes on you. Its the appearance that either attracts them and tells them alot about who you are.
Its not normal to have been at the bud stage for so many years. I fear it'll always stay like that. I've always contemplated getting implants when I'll legally be an adult and I'm just kid! So, I'm only 15 and still have time to catch up, but when? It feels like it will never happen.
I can basically see three possibilities:
a) You're going to be a late developer and your breasts will take a growing spurt sometime later (no one knows if this happens or not, BUT it does happen to some girls)
b) You're very very skinny and underweight, and that has kept your breasts smaller than what they would otherwise be. If this is the case, then gaining weight would help.
c) You are one of the flat-chested girls or nearly so - in which case please read our flat-chested page because it can really help you.
I wanted to note one thing though. Being feminine does not have to depend on your breasts. You can do many things to accentuate the fact you're feminine; mainly your hair and the kind of clothing you wear. Also on shirts: try sometimes on some other kind of shirt that is not so tight. If your small breasts don't make a noticeable 'bump', so what...! because I don't feel everyone else is keeping their eyes so tightly on you as you're doing. Try a type of dress that draws eyes to the waist, for example. Or jewelry that draws onlookers eyes to your neck and ears. Or a print on the clothing that people will look at. Other people DON'T walk on streets just looking at women's chests, like you might be doing. They might instead notice the overall appearance and clothing.
Also you might be interested in knowing that there exist gel inserts that women can put inside bras, and those make the appearance of larger breasts.
i have pubic hair and iv have it for a little while and I just started breast buding last december but they grow a little but then they stop and have been the same how long will it be till I get to the next stage?
Well, no one knows. The 'stages' are not something you can judge by - they just describe the appearance. The real 'stages' have to do with whether your breast is growing mostly ducts and connective tissue, or whether it is growing the milk glands itself. Those stages do happen. You will switch to the "gland growing stage" after your period comes. But, breast size is so variable in women that your breasts may stay close to this size, or they may grow a little, or some more - nobody can know at this point.
So you just wait. But even if they don't get bigger, don't feel bad. Please understand that small breasts are pretty and fine!! Read our site some more.
I'm 11 years old and I want bigger breasts because all my friends have bigger breasts than me and they're 1 and 2 years younger than me.I have a few pimples a little pubic hair on my vagina have smelly under arms but no hair on my underarms. My mom has breasts the size of a 14 year old and my grandma has gigantic breasts. Also they all wear bras and I don't even need one.My breast size is around a 30A and to me it's a little embracing to have small breasts.I don't like wearing padded bras because they give me a heat rash. What should I do????
Hello, You should just wait and be happy. Your friends have been developing very young and that's not always easy. It's easier to develop later. Just think, girls used to get their period around age 16 just 100 years ago. Modern pesticides, hormones in food supply etc have changed the time of puberty to be earlier.
hello, I am a girl who turned 16 in june and is approximately an A - b
cup. I have really enjoyed your website as I feel much better now
about having small breasts. I know this is a pretty broad question
but- what stage should my breast development be at for my age?- i
started mensturating at age 12 and it feels like my boobs haven't
really grown since then, I am 54 kilos and approximatetly 164 cm. when
I hit puberty I was quite underweight and was for about another year
or less. I was usually underweight for a few years previous to this. i
now eat quite well but maintain a pretty healthy weight, Did my being
underweight affect my breast development? what age will my breasts
continue to develop till? and do many people in my situation have a
growth spurt in breast size at around 17 or 18? I would really
appreciate you to answer these questions for me.
If it is four years from your menstruation beginning, then you are
likely in the final stage of breast development. The stages don't go
exactly with any age because everyone starts puberty at a slightly
different age.
Your breasts may have already developed and thus may not continue to
develop any more.
Many girls get rounder breasts in their early twenties because they
often gain a little weight at that point.
ANd, I can't say for sure if being underweight affects breast
development. While you're underweight, your breasts will contain less
fat so I guess it is a possibility. But in any case, an a-b cup is not
really anything to be worried about - it's just fine!
This site has really helped me alot. But I still need help.!!! I am 14 years old and my breasts are a 34b...they are small....:( well I got my period at the age of 10 can my brests still grow???...By the way do the herbal pills to make breasts grow affect the breasts later on...do they shrink back to their normal size?? And do the pills have to be taken for ever so that they wont shrink.....PLEASE HLP ME!!!!!!!
susan
Hi Susan,
As far as the pills go, maybe you can read
Finding objective information on herbal breast enlargement pills.
Yes, your breasts may still grow. Or, they may not. But, really the size 34b is NOT small!! It may seem so compared to the models you see in magazines and TV, but they've had breast implants and the photos are taken to make their breasts look bigger. So it's not the reality of normal breasts. B-cup is a very common and typical size for women.
im so glad that I came to this website and learned that all sizes and shapes are normal. However, I am very very flat and 17 and I am constantly worried that now and in the future I will not be able to attract males because they seemed to be soo obsessed with bigger breasts. Obviously surgery is out of the question but is there anything anything else I can do to enhance my breast size?
katie
Hi Katie,
Outside of surgery, there isn't anything reliable to increase your breast size. However they will grow quite a bit during pregnancy (to prepare for milk production) and stay bigger all the while you breastfeed.
It is true that many boys and men seem to be obsessed by big breasts... it is the American culture that has influenced them to think that way. It may also be that teenage boys are even more so because of their immaturity - they probably have not yet learned that the outside appearance is not the most important thing when building relationships. In my opinion, if teenage guys only show interest in big breasted girls, that shows how immature they are. When years go by and they get older, at least some of them will come to realize and understand that while the appearance plays a role, a true love cannot be built on that alone.
If a man ONLY likes you because of your breast size (small or big), and doesn't really care
about YOU, what you are inside, then he's not worth it - and is likely
to dump you oh so soon when something changes about your breasts (like
during pregnancy). See, say you would meet someone who really likes flat-chested girls... but then you get pregnant and your breasts grow... will he then quit liking you?
Of course it's the same way the other way around. Whoever you might marry in the future, he may very well gain weight later and lose his hair. Will you still love him? Lasting relationships are often based on similar interests and similar view of life, similar values.
So you will be much happier if you find someone who is NOT "obsessed" by big or small breasts or high necks or thin looks or any of those, but who does seriously consider what you think and feel, what you are inside.
Then on the other hand, remember that attractiveness is not only based on good looks. You may have someone who looks good but who keeps on a sour face - would she be considered attractive?
Attractiveness has a lot to do about being happy and joyful, helpful,
showing positive attitudes to others. It's that kind of persons that other people like to be around. Every girl can be attractive - regardless of breast size.
So the solution might very well be to wait a little while so that the males around you will have some more time to grow up. At 17 you have plenty of time... Finding a husband is such an important step in life and affects your life from then on in tremendous ways... that it is prudent to take your time and not rush it. When you meet guys, try to think would he be a good father? Would he be a hard and willing worker to earn money for the household? Would he be willing to care for you if something happens to you? Or is it just hormones raging in his mind?
Hope this is helpful. All the best for you,
Maria from 007 Breasts
Well I wont tell u my age but ever sense I was littler then I am now and still am I was the only girl with no chest and people used to call me flat chest, paper wall, and it used to hurt my feeling because other girls had larger breast then me and I always hide my little chest by wearing sweaters and large t-shirts and now im in jr.high so I dont know what to do because I have no chest and my sis, friends, and other girls have larger nicer chest that I want even my cousin who is only 7 has a larger chest then me. I hate it I know its not so easy having large breast but I feel more mature and more like a woman because every time I go some where boys (i love them) they like my other friends and my sis because they have a nice thicker figure with nice large breast. What I want to know is how do u get larger breast without pills, or surgery or cream? Is there any exercise or food u have to eat or anything to gey larger breast, I really want BREAST badly please make it posible please!!!
Natilie
Hi Natilie,
Please see the answer above. I know this is something most teens don't think about because everybody around them seems to be mad about getting a boyfriend or girlfriend and issues about looks seem to be on top. But life is so much more than that. And like I already said, finding a good husband is not about good looks anyway, and if the guy likes you because of your looks only, that relationship will almost surely not last. In other words, what I'm sayign is that it is Better to find someone who does NOT care about your breast size!
Why? Because just think if you had a big chest. Then you would get a boyfriend and marry someone who likes your big breasts. In all likelihood he will then quit liking you when you get pregnant or when you age a little - since they will start sagging and such.
And, there's other aspects of life that can be enjoyable if you get the breast thing off your mind somewhat. Like studying and school, planning what occupation you'd like in the future. You can enjoy sports without breast pain... and don't worry what other people think, just enjoy the sport! Or do you like music? Singing? Painting? Nature? Hiking? Windsurfing? Skiing? You could pursue those, and maybe meet someone with similar interests. Or crocheting swimsuits with built-in padding for flat-chested girls... and selling them somewhere. Doing ebay and earning money. Letting neighbors hire you to do housework. Tutoring friends kids in math.
Life is full of opportunities if you think broader, take a look around, and realize chest size is not it all and not worth worrying yourself to death. If you worry what others think, you won't enjoy. If you can put that aside, you can enjoy life and its opportunities.
Hi, I have a question...After having seen your site, I saw that my
breasts resemble that of the underdeveloped hypoplastic breasts. I'm
17 and i'm very, very self-conscious about it, more so the shape of
them. I can't wear any shirt without a padded bra, even tank tops with
the bra already lined within the shirt. I was wondering if there was
any way to make my breasts take a rounder, fuller shape without
surgery? For example, at a doctors office or something. I've heard
about the "Brava System," in which you wear this contraption and it
grows natural breast tissue; However you have to wait until you're 18
and I just don't want to wait that long, because of personal reasons.
If you can help me out at all, it would be greatly, greatly
appreciated.
--Thank you, Kay
Well, I can't really help you but I can tell you a little more about
Brava... it's not working for most people. There's a website about Brava user's
negative experiences.
Also, go to our page Breast Questions and find the link there, plus more info.
Yours may get a fuller shape still - especially if you're now kind of
skinny and thin. Many girls get more 'feminine curves' in their early
twenties, alongside with fuller breasts. And, just because your breast shape is similar to the hypoplastic breasts does not mean yours are truly hypoplastic - only an examination would tell that for sure. Also remember to read people's comments on
Breast Gallery page.
im 18, and I got my period when I was about 13 1/2. I am 5'3 and weigh 145 lbs. you would think that I would have some form of breasts for being overweight but I dont. I am a full a cup almost b on my left breast and my right breast is about a cup smaller. I was wondering if im probably lacking hormones. my mom had a 34 b cup before having kids and same goes for my fathers side...if anything maybe bigger breast. I dont think my breast have grown much since 7th grade and im already in college. I just turned 18 but I dont know if my breast will grow. my nipples still look like the budding stage of development...so I dont know. do u recomend me seeing a doctor? I need all the help I can get.
lol ps I dont if this helps, but as a kid during puberty my brother and I used to fight and I would get hit in my breast at times, I dont know if that would have any affect lol...
You are expressing concerns over your asymmetrical breasts. It is very normal to have asymmetrical breasts because most women do have slight asymmetry.
Yours may be more noticeable but unfortunately nobody really knows why that sort of thing would happen. Maybe a physical damage plays a part, maybe not.
It can't be a lack of hormones though, because hormones are substances that travel in the bloodstream all around your body. They reach every corner. Hormones cannot choose "not to enter right breast" and "yes enter left breast".
Your nipples are quite likely normal. Remember nipple shape and size varies a lot. THey will grow and change color if you get pregnant someday.
It may be a little embarassing to deal with asymmetrical breasts, but you are not alone, nor is yours the most marked asymmetry ever seen. Make sure visit our Breast Gallery to see what can happen if the babe only nurses from one breast...
hi... um ok I am 15 years old and my breasts have always been saggy and I have like a c 38 size bra... well I have a boyfriend who always wants to see my breasts but I tell him no because they look like a 40 year olds who has already had kids.well I dont tell him that but I know if I show him them he will have a really weird reaction and I was just wondering if this is normal and if he would probably react weird to this?
I am 16 years old and everything to me seems to be wrong with my boobs,I am a very small girl 4'11 and 100lbs I have large boobs 34 D, I had to start wearing a bra in 2nd grade, I am very self concious about my areola size it is quite large the size of a large pepperoni, also one is a little bigger than the other, I am I have been dating this guy for a long time now but I am nervous to show them to my boyfriend should I be? please help
Hello,
Many many boys and men in the United States do not know what female breasts look like, because women are always taught to keep them hidden and because public breastfeeding is not common in all areas. So it is very understandable that they are, first of all, plain curious to see this thing they have not seen before. And second of all, since female breast is made a taboo, something forbidden, that typically just increases the curiousity.
And his only knowledge about breasts probably comes from magazines, and he might think that normal female breast is big and perky... since that's what he's seen the models have.
One cannot know how he might react to seeing normal un-augmented female breasts that might sag and be asymmetrical etc. - it depends on his upbringing and education. If he reacts 'weird', that's not totally his fault. I would suggest that you try to get him to see this website (the Breast gallery page in particular). This will help educate him.
Note also that if someone loves you for what /you are /and not just the outward 'package', then he will not be bothered by outward things like this. However if he is a teen like you, then he might be so immature and not understand about true love and the whole issue about breasts and media images, that he might 'react' funny - yet maybe later in life after he matures he might feel differently.
Hello my name is Lauren and my breasts are like a tube shaped and I am fifteen with a 34B size, are my breasts ever going to fill out?
LaUr
I think you probably just have to wait some more. Most 15-year olds have not finished their breast development. And even when it seems it has stopped, many young women find that their figure in general, including breasts, does 'fill out' some when they're 19 or 20 or 21. It's the LAST stage of breast development during puberty when the breast gets more rounded looking. So just be patient.... : ) ...and remember 34B is not small anyway, it's average size.
My breasts used to be a 32B and they have shrunk. I am now 14 years old and my breasts were bigger when I was thirteen than 14. Why is this happening? Will they grow? They seem to be shrinking more and more. thanks.
Jessica
One reason for shrinking breasts is if you have lost weight. The breasts have fat tissue in them, and if you lose fat from your body overall, you will lose some from your breasts too. There is nothing you can do about this fact. However, please note that if you are NOT overweight, then dieting is not necessarly healthy. Being a lot underweight is as detrimental to health as is being overweight.
The other two instances when breasts shrink is after woman quits breastfeeding, and at menopause. But those wouldn't normally apply to teenage girls. If your situation is not about losing weight, then you could go see a doctor to check your hormone levels in case you have some rare hormone-related disorder that mimics menopause.
i really love your advice!! it helped me aloT I have like the same qestions as all the girls!! this really helped me alot!! thank for the advice and now I know that its not all about the look! if no one likes u because your breasts are small our you're flat chested then its ok!! heheh
Allisen
hi,
i have just been looking on your website as my brests are really starting to bother me. I am 17 and have discovered that I have tubular hypoplastic breasts. however, they have been explained as underdeveloped breasts and seeing as I am only 17 I was wondering if they will continue to grow anymore seeing as my periods are still not properly established. it's a really embarassing problem as I am worried my new boyfriend will think i'm deformed if I even let him see them! is there any way in which I could boost their growth because I am only a 36AA. also no bras ever fit properly. its bringing my confidence down too. i'd really like some answers. thanks.
alice soper
If your periods are not yet established properly, (whatever you mean by that), then I assume the period started within the less maybe 18 months and that means your breasts would probably still grow and develop. So you cannot yet really tell if you have 'tubular hypoplastic breasts'.
Now, if there is a problem with your period, like if it is very irregular for way more than one year since you started, then you might benefit from seeing a doctor, since there might be a problem with the ovaries. Ovaries produce female hormones. Breast growth is dependent on many hormones and so a problem with hormones can affect breast development.
One common condition associated with irregular menses is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
Now, if your breasts truly are and would remain underdeveloped, the only possibility that I know of as of now that might help is that there is a one case report of a woman who couldn't produce milk because of that for her first child. Then she took natural progesterone during her other pregnancy and that child she was able to breastfeed normally. (See the study Patient with insufficient glandular tissue experiences milk supply increase attributed to progesterone treatment for luteal phase defect..)
Hi, this is an awesome site! But on to my question.. I'm 15 years old and I started my period about 3 months ago and have had it twice since then. I am only a 32AA barely and so I wear a padded bra and am thinking about putting gel fillings in it, but I was just wondering if I will still grow. My breasts are slightly tender all the time, not extremely but if I get hit by something they hurt really bad. I was just curious if you think I am going to grow anymore or if I am stuck in this small size forever!! My mom is a 34 B and my grandmother is huge like in the D's and my other side is like B's I think but not sure...so if you could help that'd be GREAT!!! And is this normal for my age? Like are there a lot of others like me?
-EXTREMELY worried and self-conscious
Breasts being tender is a sign of them growing. Just make sure you don't wear too tight bras on them... Yes, it sounds you will still grow some.
Most girls in the USA get their period before 15 years of age... 15 is still perfectly normal but later than average. All that you describe is still normal for your age, it's just that most other girls may have gone through these puberty changes a little earlier. Just ask your mom when she got her period and when her breasts developed etc. since a lot of it is hereditary.
Also you can visit TeenHealthFX.com or TeenHealth or TeenGrowth.com, or similar sites to learn more about puberty.
Hello, my name is stephanie and I am 16 years old and I have no chest at all. I am a 32A. Actually I dont even fit into a A cup. I only weight 95 pounds, but I eat like a big. I hate it so much. I cry every night, because I cant be like any of the other girls. I go to school with a pretend bra that makes people think I have a chest. I hate it because I cant show of my good shape with a tight shirt, I could only wear big t-shirts and I am getting sick of it. I dont go out with any guys cause I dont want them to find out that I am wearing this bra. I dont go whopping with my friends, and I NEVER go shopping for a bathing suit. I just dont want them to find out that I have this bra on. If people find out about this they might tell the whole school and I will be sooo embaressed. I need help I haven't got my period yet and I am so sick of not being normal. Can you help me?
stephanie
If your period hasn't started at 16 and if you have no breast development, it sounds like your puberty has not yet started. In other words you suffer from
delayed puberty. There are many underlying health problems that can delay puberty - or it may just be because everyone in your family has developed late. It is advisable to see a doctor. Make sure you eat well and healthy. See also Delayed Puberty at Keepkidshealthy.com.
im flat as and havnt got my period. half the girls writting into this site have their periods. u all shud b grateful at least u hav ur periods. I dont hav mine and it sux.
im 14 and worried. im a vegeterian could this possibly have any thing to do with my groth and me not having my period?
tracy michelle
Breast buds are usually the first sign of puberty starting. After that comes pubic hair, and more breast development, growth spurt, and then your period.
Vegetarians can start puberty later than others. It is not dangerous if your puberty is delayed for that reason. However there are some other conditions that also cause delayed puberty, so you should check with a doctor if you don't have any signs of puberty now.

I was wondering if im ok because my breast are like a size 34b on the left and a 34a on the right is this normal. Also I got my period when I was 11 3/4 and I am now 12.And my breast have hardly grown.I started wearing a bra at lyk 8 has that stopped my growth.
Leilani
Hello Leilani,
as noted elsewhere on this site, bras don't stop breast growth, nor do they help it. It is normal to have breasts develop at different rates so that one is bigger than the other even by one cup size. Eventually, this difference will probably even out - though a small number of women will have that much asymmetry as adults too. It sounds it hasn't been much time since you started your period. I hope you're not looking at them every day trying to see some development... breast development takes years and so you may not be able to notice much difference in just a few months.
Hi, im 14, nearly 15 and im only 34A I started my period when I just turned 13 is there stil time for my boobs to grow? Its soooo depressing as I have the smallest boobs in my year and get teased all the time! kat

Hi Alex and Kat,
See how you're not alone! So similar situations. Your breasts will probably still grow a little bit in size, and also develop in shape. You say it's not fair to have A cup - but it's not about fairness! It's about the fact that just like some people are short and some tall and some in between, even so, some women have AA cup (or are flat-chested more or less), some have A cup, some have B, some C, some D or more. We can never have all women have B or C cups, because it's like a continuum of all possible breast sizes. Maybe your relatives on your dad's side have fairly small breasts. Many of your friends have B- or C-cup, because those sizes are the most common, just like being kind of average tall is the most common situation.
Remember also, that especially if you have a small/thin frame, then A-cup is far more proportional to your body than a D-cup. Small women rarely have large breasts, and vice versa!
Regarding your 12-year old friend with D-cup, it's likely that hers will grow even more - but that's not necessarily the happiest situation! Many many women with large breasts suffer from backaches, and the breasts sag very early, and get in the way etc. Just be happy - your breasts are PERFECT!
